Dr. Tinkler is a resident physician at the University of Minnesota's Large Animal Hospital, dealing, in this instance, with the Rescue horses that need their health evaluated when they have been confiscated from cruel, abusive or unhealthy environments. In this instance Chris was working a yearling stud colt that had never been handled. Dr. Tinkler spent some time watching Chris and Earl get to know each other.  After the training session Dr. Tinkler was able to draw Earl's blood for the tests necessary to make certain he's healthy. "W-O-W, I was quite impressed! Good job!" said Dr. Tinkler when asked what she thought of Chris's training methods.

As a student of Chris’s, I have come to admire her incredible dedication and ability when it comes to passing along her knowledge of horsemanship to students.  Chris not only taught me better riding technique, but her innate sense of how a horse thinks and reacts has helped me to better understand my horse, and to relate to it on an entirely new – and increasingly satisfying! - level.  Best of all, she has given me more self confidence – and in doing so that confidence seems to have been naturally passsed along to my horse, Fortune.  Thanks to Chris, Fortune and I have become better partners – which is what it’s all about in the end, right?    Margaret Miller

Taking riding lessons at 3S-Ranch was a great experience. Not only is Chris Vinson very knowledgeable about horses, but she truly loves her job.  Chris enthusiasm for her clients success is heartfelt.  Chris has an uncanny ability to understand each horse’s unique personality almost immediately and how to teach another person to respond to their horse’s individual personality.  I grew up with horses and had to sell them when I went to college.  Someday I was going to get around to riding again.  Someday came 30 years later and what was innate as a child was forgotten as adult.  There where gaps in my abilities on what to do in certain situations when riding.  I felt as though I had just enough knowledge to be dangerous to myself and my horse.  I wasn’t interested in showing or competing, I just wanted to be the best rider I could be. Chris made me feel very relaxed and at ease even though it was very humbling to have to admit at 49 you need help and have to relearn how to ride. Chris tailor made my lessons for my goals.  The first thing I learned from Chris was my horse was very smart and she was going to make me work every task I asked of her.  What was refreshing about Chris was she loves mares.  She enjoys the fact that they can be unpredictable.  Chris would laugh out load when my mare, Lady, would get mad and throw a fit.  Chris taught me to see the subtle changes in her behavior and to enjoy the challenge when Lady tried to get away with things and at the same time keep Lady in line. Chris is also extremely dedicated to her job.  One day towards the end of a lesson Lady refused to go over an obstacle.  She continually refused, nothing was working.  Most trainers at that point would have said, your time is up, we’ll continue next week, but Chris went above and beyond and took Lady and worked with her for another hour and a half until Lady did what was asked of her.  This truly demonstrates Chris’s dedication and willingness to work with her clients.
No only did I get the knowledge and skills I was looking for from taking riding lessons from Chris at 3S ranch, I feel I found a friend in Chris.  I got more than my money’s worth and would highly recommend Chris’s program to other’s whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider.
